Meet the Artist: The Pulp Girls Pt 1

Q1: Do you believe in zodiac/star signs and are you true to your own?

Absolutely! We believe in star signs and regularly talk ~*astrology*~ to each other throughout the day! We love to assign everyday objects as each astrology sign just for fun. I think we are true to our signs though our moon and rising signs influence different aspects of our vibes a lottttt!

Q2: Born from your love of vintage clothing The Pulp Girls exploded onto the scene - filling the world with cosmic feminine energy - and gaining zillions of online fans ‘babes.’ How has your brand changed over the last 5 years?

Our brand has changed to be much more astrology-focused over the past 5 years. I mean, astrology has been an important part of our lives growing up, but we shifted our focus a bit more to what we love on the business end! We also have focused a lot more on the nurturing, self-love aspect most likely reflected in our individual personal growth over the past few years.

Q3: How is it working with your one another - sister and sister?

It’s so nice and relaxed! When we work together it's just like a daily hang-out session… watch a documentary, sip some coffee, draw an Instagram post, pack some orders or brainstorm our next project! It’s very chill!

Q4: What’s your favourite subject for ‘Gal Talk!?’

Not to sound redundant but we literally are obsessed with talking about astrology!! It’s one of our fave things to discuss & debate!

Q5: Who’s your favourite female and why?

Maria Owens from Magic Lessons (first book of the practical magic series). She is always true to herself and is just such a magnetic character.

Q6: Let’s talk about your celestial deck - Royal Zodiac - please describe it for the avid players out there waiting to unlock and collect it.

An aesthetic feast for the eyes featuring whimsical members of the royal court of astrology! These cards will take you on a magical journey through the four elements; fire, earth, air & water and keep you coming back for another and another round of solitaire!

Q7: We know you have designed beautiful tarot decks previously - how was it different from creating a digital deck of playing cards for Flick?

The tarot deck had a lot more ‘rules’ in my opinion! Tarot has been a part of my life for over 15 years so I was very particular about including crucial elements that bolster the meanings of each card. Designing the playing card deck for Flick was more creatively open-ended & free. It was a fun experience for me!

Pt 2 will be here soon!
